Hotels, villas, lodges & retreats
Overlooking Maastricht's imposing St. Servaas Basilica lies Maison Haas Hustinx, a hotel housed in two monumental buildings that depict the eclectic style of the 1920s. Every room has been restored with great respect to the historic space it occupies. The mix of custom, vintage and contemporary works, including blown glass and pieces by Normann Copenhagen, merges to create a beautifully balanced design. One hundred years after the buildings' construction, a seamless structure was erected in zinc and glass, melding the present into this historic site. The passage to the back of the building arrives at a serre tiled with mosaic marble floors and embraced by hanging Tuscan jasmines. This new annex sits atop a spa; a quiet sanctuary hiding on the Vrijthof. It includes a pool, sauna, hammam, and booth for meditation, confession, or prayer; a place to practice one’s own ways to spiritual wellness.
